THEY WILL BE JUST FINE! Let's be honest, teachers have limited resources and far too many students in their classrooms (and at all different levels) to be completely effective. It is no longer the way it used to be in elementary and middle school where the focus was on building the foundation of learning and preparing for high school and beyond. Now the focus is on test scores and standards and it has made it so that many teachers no longer enjoy teaching, which makes it hard for the kids to enjoy learning. Very little effort is put into individual classroom curriculums anymore - usually just worksheets downloaded from the internet. I only wish our kids had the teachers (or rather school systems) from even just 15-20 years ago. That's not to say that the teachers are the problem- this stems from the administration and all of the guidelines the teachers must now follow, but to be fair, with some effort, it could still be made enjoyable and engaging. While some teachers at Landrum do really "teach", there are those who put little effort merely sending home the same printed pages that they sent my other kids in previous years. BUT this is no different than any other school in any other district across the state ... across the country. The difference here is that nearly all of the teachers we have encountered, at the very least, care and want the best for their students. My kid is happy here. He has friends and enjoys most of his teachers (that's to be expected). He likes most of the staff (also to be expected). He feels safe (most important). One parent mentioned that was an issue and I have been a part of Landrum for many years and can say that has never been the case. He dresses however he feels (as do most kids) and it is never a problem. Is he going to come out of here solving quadratic equations or even being able to spell quadratic equation? Not likely. But, that's also indicative of his efforts, not just the teacher's. Bottom line- your child will get out of it what he/she puts into it and so will you. If you stay involved, your child will do just fine here. It's a good school with great families and great kids as well. I think if most people truly thought about these reviews before they wrote them and were also truly honest with themselves, they would probably realize thatvwhat they wrote was extremely exaggerated. We tend to do that when our kids are involved. Let your child go to Landrum. They will be just fine ... and so will you.

I had a fantastic experience with Buena Park Montessori! The teachers and staff were incredibly caring, attentive, and dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for the children. The Montessori approach to learning was apparent in every aspect of the classroom, and my child loved the hands-on, individualized activities. The facilities were clean, organized, and well-maintained, with plenty of space for the children to explore and play. I also appreciated the flexibility of their scheduling options, which made it easy for me to fit daycare into my busy schedule. I highly recommend Buena Park Montessori to anyone looking for a top-notch daycare in Buena Park, CA!

This school is great but they don’t allow phones that that makes kids who are introverts have a worse day and they keep on saying how we are the best school and that we are the best and we are better the. The other schools we really are not having a UNFAIR DRESS CODE AND A NO PHONES Except FOR THE ASB AND THATS UNFAIR THE TEACHERS USE THEIR PHONES MORE THEN THE KIDS THATS VERY UNFAIR. THE TEACHERS HAS FAVORITE LIKE THIS GIRL NAME TATUM WHO DOES BOT EVEN HAVE TO DO PE AND MADE THIS ONE GIRL FAINT BC SHE SHOUTED HURRY UP RUN

My child has been attending McCarty for Kindergarten, he loves to go to school, and the teachers are caring, and encouraging and also have a genuine love for working with young children. The teachers and staff are always available to answer questions, provide support, and communicate regularly about my child's progress. There are lots of extra circular activities for families conducted by PTA.

The students of color are treated differently. There is zero diversity on staff. The black kids all sit together at one table. The school does not work toward equity. They have a good basketball team.

PDS is consistently outstanding at getting their graduates into the Ivies and other top tier universities. They have a large team of excellent well-connected college counselors. If that is your goal for your children PDS is the school for you. Their STEM and IT curriculum is very strong with the REX program and ability to study at Princeton University. Your child will graduate with excellent writing skills. The Mock Trial just won first place and the Model UN has also been a strength. Sports teams are also very strong leading into Division 1 athletics for graduates. The PDS reputation is known throughout the ivies and the country. PDS has become more and more competitive to be accepted into because of its college matriculation. If you look at the boarding schools versus PDS you can see that PDS acceptances to Princeton and other Ivy League schools is higher. They navigated Covid well and kept students healthy under the advice of a leading and world re-known epidemiologist. Boarding is more like college and might be more subject to germ sharing perhaps from students living together? A minor concern for more vulnerable students at a boarding school. Day students only means more support and success without boarding stress or competition as a day student at a boarding school. In addition, the PDS campus and buildings are new and beautiful. The endowment is large and the students benefit via experiential learning that exceeds and rivals area schools. The central location between New York and Philadelphia and a stones throw to Princeton and the university make PDS ideal. The only negative is just because you want to go there doesn’t mean you’ll get in. Super competitive.

All of my children have attended ALA. They have done well here. It is small and most people know each other or can easily do do. I love the strong Biblical values taught and supported here. It has given my children a strong foundation for this life and hope for eternal life.

The administrative staff defines the identity of this institution. Once one learns of its lack of culture, values, and ethics the decision will be easy to get their children out of this school immediately or have the knowledge to make an informed decision and never consider enrolling any child here.
